The New Album From Matt Boroff

Experienced musician, Matt Boroff, has returned with his biggest and best album to date, entitled ‘Grand Delusion’.

The Austrian based singer songwriter takes listeners on a musical journey conjuring images and sounds of wind-swept deserts and the dark abyss with the help of other well-known musicians. ‘Grand Delusion’ was recorded at 11AD studios, featuring the talents of former drummer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam, Jack Irons, as well as Mark Lanegan.

Boroff goes way back in the alternative rock scene, having shared stages with the likes of Nirvana and Kyuss during the late 80s/ early 90s. After his high school band parted ways in 1995, Matt focused on honing his craft before forming Matt Boroff & The Mirrors who have supported for huge acts such as Queens of The Stone Age and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

Clearly, Boroff has a strong pedigree to his name and the quality is reflected in ‘Grand Delusion’. Part of this comes from the complex, yet relevant topics that Matt addresses in the album which touch on ideas of love in the new world and what power it has, as well as nationalism, war-mongering and greed. Sometimes, it’s refreshing to hear a piece of work based on something so much more specific, other than typical love songs and past experiences. With Boroff’s distinct baritone layered above powerful beats, heavy guitars and flickering organ notes, the alternative sound challenges musical genres with its individuality.

In 2010, Boroff began working again as a solo artist, releasing two solo LPs, an EP and now ‘Grand Delusion’ which is out May 5th.

Matt is also playing live at The Old Blue Last in London on February 6th.
